Kinka Brand Mackerels

Only mackerels that meet the standards of freshness and high fat and size of 900g-1kg or more caught in late autumn off mount Kinka, Miyagi are called ‘Kinka brand mackerel’. The number of fish that meet this standard is very small, so it is considered as a very high branded mackerel in Japan.

Kinka brand mackerels are so delicious with fatness and freshness.

Kinka brand mackerels are different from regular mackerels?

• Their size is much bigger than normal fish. Size from 900g-1kg or more.

• Fatty fish

• You will only feel the sweetness but not the fishy taste of the fish

• Kinka brand mackerels are rich in DHA and EPA to prevent many diseases related to high blood pressure and diabetes.

Even those who do not like to eat ordinary mackerels, can still eat Kinka brand mackerels because the taste of the fish is very special.

The price of Kinka brand mackerels is high for the following reasons:

  • The number of fish caught is very small, so it is often sold at a very high price.
  • In the Kanto region, it is retailed as fresh fish to restaurants with prices ranging from 100 USD – 200 USD/kg

Because its high price, Kinka brand mackerels with a large size of 900g-1kg or more is often used as an ingredient for making Sushi or sashimi.
