The distillery was newly built in 2021 in the Rokko forest at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level, overlooking the city of Kobe in Hyogo Prefecture.
The distillery is located in a forest with clean air, moderate humidity, and temperature differences that are ideal for making whiskey.
The water used for preparation is water from Mt. Rokko, which is famous in Japan for its delicious water, which is derived from the land formed by the accumulation of fine granite sands, and adds flavor to the whisky.
Three types of whiskies are introduced here.
The Smoky Edition is a skillful blend of the original spirit distilled at Mt. Rokko and the original spirit delivered from the banks of the Avon River in Speyside.
There are two types of the series, one sweet and full-bodied, non-peated, and the other peated, with a distinctive aroma.
The Rokkosan Whisky series is a hot topic among whisky lovers in Japan.
ROKKOSAN PURE MALT WHISKY SMOKY EDITION 720ml
The aroma is earthy, with a hint of campfire smoke and peat, and the savory malt sweetness and smoky flavors are impressive, with occasional hints of orange peel. The bittersweetness of peat smoke and dark chocolate is followed by a refreshing aftertaste like sea breeze blowing in a port town.

It is a skillfully blend new make spirit distilled at Rokkosan Distillery and whisky delivered from the banks of the Avon River in Speyside. The scent of the smoke of a bonfire is followed by the botanical taste.
