Yuzu Kosho(fermented paste made from chili peppers, yuzu peel, and salt.)

Yuzu Kosho is a luxurious seasoning that has all the basic tastes: sweet, sour, spicy, bitter, and savory. Just add an appropriate amount to your dish and the flavor will stand out.

In Kyushu, chili peppers have long been called “kosho,” which is why it is called “Yuzu Kosho.” Yuzu Kosho is a versatile seasoning that originated in Kyushu and is an indispensable part of the Kyushu dining table.

Today, it is often seen in supermarkets and restaurants, and has become a seasoning that has become established on the Japanese dining table, and is used in a variety of food areas, such as Yuzu Kosho-flavored sweets and convenience store side dishes.

We carry products from a long-established Kyushu Yuzu Kosho manufacturer.

To make this Yuzu Kosho, the yuzu skin is traditionally peeled by hand and finely chopped to preserve the original yuzu aroma.

Then, to make the most of the excellent aroma of both green and yellow yuzu, it is ground together with raw green chili peppers and salt in an exquisite balance.

◆The granulated type is a coarsely ground Yuzu Kosho.

◆The paste type is a traditional Yuzu Kosho that exquisitely combines the rich aroma of Kyushu-grown yuzu with the spicy kick of chili peppers.
